Dishes hudut soup and tapou

 Traveling to southern Belize, you should eat two dishes hudut soup and tapou. 

Enjoy the dishes of this country; it is a combination of foods and spices that are distinctive of the Garifuna culture. Would you like try eat  hudut soup and tapou?

Two Garífuna dishes should eat:

HUDUT SOUP

It would be strange if they served you a soup with a whole fish in it, which also seems to want to get off the plate.

This dish is heritage from the Garífuna. It is a fish cooked in coconut milk with green banana and add variuos spices. 

To eat it, you should order a banana puree "Pintones" (between ripe and green) and a good portion of ripe with coconut.


TAPOU 

This dish is a creamy fish-based soup with a wide range of ingredients, such as: cassava root, green and ripe banana, lemon and orange citrus seasonings, ginger, basil and other spices.
